Edge #6,7,8,10,11

Here are the rest of the covers I did, with Garys' help.
My cover idea for "Edge #9" was rejected, so they ran with a cover by someone else.

Edge #1-5

Back in the late 80's/early 90's, I was involved in illustrating a superhero comic for Greater Mercury Comics. While I wasn't a fan of the stories, I put all I had into the art. I did the art while holding down a full time job, working evenings and weekends to get them done. My friend Gary Wray helped by coloring the covers. You might be able to get them real cheap at some comic shops or on ebay. I'll post the rest of the covers tomorrow.

Here's a 4 pager done for 3-D king Ray Zone's Zomoid series. It's an after hours adventure of a certain annoying spokeskitty.

Fantastic Fable #4 by Ambrose Bierce

A little more cartoony than the others, but I thought it more appropiate to the story.

Take a Skull

Howdy Kids!

This is courtesy of "Fab Ion #6". It has become a fan favorite for those who have seen it. It originated when an Asian immigrant I worked with proclaimed, out of the blue, "Everybody has a skull." He was so proud.

Gag Me!

Tried my hand at some single panel gag cartoons. Not my best stuff, but thought you might enjoy them. If only for their ineptness.

I tried a couple of different approachs with this one. First:

And then:

And now for something completely different:

We Are The Synthazoids!

A 4-pager I penciled and Gary inked. We both contributed to the story. The science (if you can call it that) is so wacky.

Eggsactly how do you do that?

Another collaboration with Gary Wray (Monster Alley). Done the same way as the "Cheap Thrills" page (7/21/08 post).
My favorite panel is the Wright's Silver Creme one.

From the pages in my mind

Hi Kids!

Some throw away drawings. The waterballoon cartoon is a pre-cursor to the one from the "Screaminblackmonkeyspit" 8-pager.

This was used in the "Comics Journal" for the letters page commenting on the Frank Miller interview.

A painting done for some people who were marketing "Fairy Dusts" They didn't use it. Acrylics. 16x20.
The photo doesn't do the colors justice.
